Shelf life and storage

Handling
Substrate Preparation
SALAMBO® BITUMEN PASTE is used on all the bases that are strong, load-bearing and do not contain any separating substances (fats, dust, etc.). The surface must be clean, stable and free of cracks. It must first remove any unsound parts and layers with low mechanical resistance.
The substrate may be slightly damp, visible film of water. It should not be soaked with water or constantly wet because of the coating can not dry.
All traces of mold and mildew should be removed completely. When applied to metal, using a wire brush to completely remove rust.
Mixing
SALAMBO® BITUMEN PASTE is ready for use.
Mix well before use! Do not mix with other materials!
Way of working
SALAMBO® BITUMEN PASTE is applied with a spatula or trowel with a maximum layer thickness of 3-4 mm. To avoid the formation of bubbles is recommended to apply to it in 2 or 3 layers, each subsequent layer applied after complete drying and curing of the preceding. Be careful not to hurt the previous!
In areas at risk of cracking in the second layer is embedded reinforcing mesh!
When repairing old bitumen membranes formed blisters and peeled sections be cut. Space is plastered with pasta. The edges of the membrane melt slightly and closed over coat, then seam putty smoothly. To avoid accumulation.
The drying time depends on the absorption capacity of the ground, the thickness of layers and environmental conditions, and is about 24 hours for each 1 mm of the layer thickness. The surface must be completely dry before the subsequent construction activities upon it.

Attention!
The work is carried out in dry weather at a temperature of the substrate and the environment from + 5ºC to + 30ºC and humidity below 60%. Time to complete drying of the product depends on the porosity of the thickness of application layer and atmospheric conditions (temperature and humidity).
For full security - should allow time for drying the product of 24 hours.
Keep away from running water and rainfall 24 hours after application!
Do not apply in cold and wet days, and in the rain!
Do not apply on frozen surfaces!
The vapors of the solvent ignite at 38ºC! Keep away from open flames!
Do not apply the product under direct sunlight!
